Wilmer Wayne Butler

Wilmer “Wayne” Butler, also known as Speedy Buck or Peanut to his friends, passed away after a valiant battle with cancer on Tuesday May 6, 2025, in Charlottesville, VA.

He was born on December 23, 1965, as the youngest son of Wilmer “Hoot” Butler and Helen (Talley) Butler at UVA Hospital in Charlottesville. Wayne was a fun-loving man with a big personality and a passion for life. He was well known by many and loved by all. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, Ray Talley. He is survived by his three remaining brothers, Harold Butler and his wife Darlene Butler, Franklin Butler and his wife Linda Butler and Bobby Butler and his wife Nancy Butler, his sister Diane (Butler) Moore and her fiancé Frank Millway and by numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his bonus mom, Teenie Morris and his close friends, Sally Dyer, Judy Rafaly and Jerry Gardner.

A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held 1:00pm, Saturday, May 24th, at Bybee's Road Baptist Church, 4989 Bybee Church Road, Troy, Virginia.
