William Henley

William Earnest Henley passed away peacefully on August 4, 2026, at the age of 69, at his beloved river house in Reedville, VA after battling pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his children Michael Henley (Emily), Taylar Fox (Allen), and Katherine Lipscomb (Zach) and five beautiful grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother (Florence Rosalie), father (Earnest) and brother (Joseph).

William was raised in Henrico County and attended Hermitage High School (class of 1977). He was a carpenter and worked alongside his father and brother with H&H Home Improvement. William was an avid outdoorsman. His happiest places were in a deer stand, stalking a gobbler, on the bay catching rockfish, in a creek netting heron, or telling stories of his trophy hunts and fishing trips with friends.

We take heart knowing that William has rejoined his family in Heaven where they can listen to the hounds run together.

A graveside service will be held for William at Greenwood Memorial Gardens on Friday, August 14th, 2026, at 12:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society.
