Virginia Starllings Parrish

Virginia Lee Starllings Parrish, 87, of Manakin Sabot, VA, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 19, 2025. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William “Buck” Parrish, and her parents, Arthur and Virginia Starllings.

Virginia was a loving wife, mother, and Me-Maw. She embraced many roles throughout her life, including foster parent, teacher’s aide, bus driver, and bookkeeper for the family business. While she cherished each of these positions, her favorite was being Me-Maw.

Her devotion extended to her church, Dover Baptist, where she served as a nursery worker, kitchen helper, and WMU member, and was a steadfast supporter of the church's mission. Virginia frequently visited homebound friends and family, offering companionship and treats, as she had a well-known sweet tooth.

Virginia is survived by her sons, Glenn (Sandra) and Lawrence (Wanda); her grandchildren, Alicia (Steven), Katheryn, and Kyle; and her great-grandchildren, Lillie, Audrey, and Jordan. She also leaves behind her faithful four-legged companion, Bleu, along with numerous family members and friends.

The family will receive visitors at Norman Funeral Chapel, located at 2982 River Road West, Goochland, on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 11:00am at Norman Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, 12609 Patterson Avenue, Richmond, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St.Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
