Gwendolyn Saunders Thurston
Gwendolyn Saunders Thurston, 70, of Mineral, Virginia, passed away on December 7
th
2021. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Helen and Lewis Saunders; and her brothers, Gregory Saunders and Dennis Saunders. She is survived by her husband, Robert Thurston; son, Rodney Thurston; granddaughter, Taylor Thurston; sisters, Robyn Smith (Ray) and Rhonda Chenault (Sonny); brother, Tracy Saunders (Kelly); sisters-in-law, Bonnie O’Brien (Gary), RuthAnn Norman (Bubba) and MaryLou Kellum (Dean); and brother-in-law, David Lee Thurston.
Gwen was a long term employee of the Louisa County School System.
A visitation will be held
on

at Smyrna Baptist Church,
1420 Rock Castle Road, Goochland, Virginia 23063
from 1:30 – 2:30pm
, with a funeral service to follow
at 2:30pm
. Arrangements are being handled by Sheridan Funeral Home in Kents Store, Virginia and Norman Funeral Chapel in Goochland, Virginia.
