Sheila Goforth

Sheila Goforth, 57, of Potomac, Maryland, passed away on December 11, 2023, in Farmville, Virgina.

Sheila was born on September 13, 1966, to Linda Gillispie and the late Hearld Sweitzer.

She is survived by her mother, Linda Gillispie; her children, Buck Dalton, Jessica Southall (David), Joseph Dalton (Brittany); her brother Hearld Sweitzer Jr.; her sister Kelly Toomey, and her grandchildren, Penelope, Aubrey, Peter, and Annabelle. 

Preceded in death by her father, Hearld Sweitzer, and dear friend Terk.

Christmas was Sheila’s favorite time of year. She counted down the days until she got to see snow, so it was only fitting it snowed her final night here with her family. Sheila had a love for reading like no other. It was not often you would find her without a book in her hand. Sheila also could never turn a blind eye to a stray and always shared her home with the animals she loved.  

A memorial service will take place at her daughter’s home, where friends and family will gather to celebrate her life on Saturday, December 16^th at 2:00 pm.
