Scarlett Rose Gormours, age 5, passed away at home on April 6, 2026, leaving behind a world forever changed by her light.
Though her time here was far too short, Scarlett lived a life filled with remarkable strength, love, and joy. She spent much of her life bravely fighting through numerous severe medical challenges, enduring more than any child ever should. Yet through it all, she remained the happiest soul—her radiant smile could light up any room and lift the hearts of everyone around her.
Scarlett found pure joy in life’s simplest and most magical moments. She loved bubbles, music, and laughter. Dance parties and karaoke (Rudolph was her absolute favorite) filled her days with happiness, and she never missed a chance to share that joy with those she loved. Her bond with her little sister, Evelyn, was especially beautiful—they were best friends, bringing each other endless comfort, laughter, and love.
She is survived by her loving parents, Asia and Corey Gormours; her beloved sister, Evelyn Gormours; her grandparents, Christopher Shifflett and Jennifer Donovan, Teresa Moneymaker, Jason Gormours, and Morgan Perkins; her great-grandparents, Jeff Conner and Laura Donovan, David and Sandra Morris, Faye Moneymaker, and Marvin Gormours; and her aunts and uncles, Maya and Chloe Shifflett, Sidney Alex Gormours, and Alyza and JJ Perkins & many more family and friends who loved her so dearly in this life.
She was preceded in death by Joshua Moneymaker (Uncle), Early Tom Donovan (Grandpa), Shelvie Donovan (Great Grandma), Jean Gormours (Great Grandma), and Ronnie and Sharon Perkins (Great Grandparents).
Scarlett was truly one of a kind—a deeply special child who touched countless lives in her short time here. She was, and will always be, surrounded by more love than words can express. Her spirit, her laughter, and her light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her.
Even in the darkest days, Scarlett will remain a guiding light—forever loved, forever missed, and forever cherished.
Services for Scarlett will be held on Monday, April 13th, with a visitation starting at 11:00am, followed by a funeral service at 12:00pm, both service to take place at Beulah Baptist Church, 1633 Kents Store Way, Kents Store. Interment to immediately follow in the church cemetery.
