Sandra Briley

Another angel flew away to join the Heavenly hosts, on Friday March 31, 2023. Sandra (Sandi) Whitecotton Briley passed from this life and went to be her Lord & Savior in Heaven after a lengthy battle with dementia. Born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on February 27, 1946, Sandi grew up in both Tennessee and Virginia. A portion of her young life was spent living with her grandparents in Sevierville, TN where she attended school with Dolly Parton. She enjoyed talking about her school days and how she actually saw Dolly’s “Coat of Many Colors”. Sandi is survived by her husband Fred L. Briley of Goochland, her three brothers Buddy Whitecotton (Barbara), of Montpelier, Virginia, Rodney Orcutt (Martha) of Chesterfield, Scott Orcutt of Richmond, Virginia, a sister Debbie Wargofcak (Mike) of Winston, Georgia and two grandchildren: Tara Elliott and Donnie Elliott, Jr. She loved the Lord, country gospel music, her family and a special canine friend named “Scooter”. The family will accept visitors on Monday, April 3, from 6-7:30pm at Normans Funeral Chapel, 2985 River Road West, Goochland, Virginia. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 4 at 2:00pm at Mizpah Christian Church, 5257 Old Columbia Road, Goochland, Virginia.
