Robert "Scott" Talmadge

Scott passed peacefully and unexpectedly in his sleep Sunday night leaving a full circle of friends and family heartbroken. He was born in Dover NJ and spent his young years growing up surrounded by family in the great little town of Mt Hope, NJ. His love for operating heavy equipment and land development started in his teens as he worked for his father’s business. In 1989, he followed his parents to a then quiet Fluvanna County Va. He quickly made lifetime friends in the excavation, construction and social circles in the area, many of whom can share a good “Scott Story”. Always wanting to be better, he asked his father-in-law for some math lessons so he could better understand the complexity of site development. He was proud of his work, his dedicated team members and the entire staff and leadership of CEVA – his work family. Scott cherished time with his family, friends, traveling and had mastered the grill, his smoker, and clam pot. He had busy weekends with Dumpy (his little ford dump truck), fixing things for friends and trying new recipes. Scott leaves behind a heartbroken “family” that includes his wife, Julie, two brothers, Rick and Linc (Susan), sister-in-law Terry Heaton (Jeff) and brother-in-law Mike Thompson, 12 nieces and nephews, 18 great nieces and nephews, a huge loving extended family and many close friends he considered his family. Scott was a quiet faithful person. “Go in peace. Your journey has the LORD’s approval.” Judges 18:6 A private memorial service will be announced later.
