Phyllis Jean Lawson entered the loving arms of our Lord on January 19, 2026. Born on December 13, 1964, on the beautiful island of Oahu, Hawaii, she was the cherished daughter of Wallace Berry and Phyllis Balios. From the very beginning, Phyllis brought warmth and joy to everyone around her. Phyllis was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend. She was the eighth of nine siblings—Beverley, Darlene, Sharlene, Naomi, Lewellen, Michael, Nancy, and Roxanne—each of whom she loved deeply. Her greatest treasures in life were her three children: Waverley, Puanani, and Itri, whom she adored beyond measure. She was also blessed to share her life with her soulmate and best friend, William “Kalei” Lawson, the love of her life. Much like her mother, Phyllis had a heart for caregiving. She spent her life nurturing others—nieces, nephews, grandchildren, cousins, and anyone who needed a helping hand or a comforting word. Her career as a nurse was a true calling, allowing her to touch countless lives with compassion and grace. Phyllis expressed her love in many ways, but one of her favorites was through cooking. She believed that sharing a meal was sharing love, and her kitchen was always a place of warmth and laughter. Her vibrant spirit shone through in everything she did, whether enjoying music, watching her favorite shows, playing games on her Wii Switch, or putting together outfits that reflected her unique style and inner beauty. Phyllis will be remembered for her kindness, her laughter, and her unwavering love for family and friends. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
