Pearl Martin

Pearl Inez, “Dump” Martin, 88, peacefully transitioned to her eternal rest in the arms of our Heavenly Father on Friday, December 8, 2023, in her home located in Washington, D.C.

Pearl was an amazing mother, loving grandmother to 3 generations, caring aunt, cousin and devoted friend. She was deeply loved and will be missed by many. Pearl was also a DIEHARD fan of the Washington (Redskins) Commanders Football team. She will leave behind many saddened hearts, yet they will forever treasure the abundance of beautiful memories. Pearl was born to the late Pauline Martin and Lawrence Payne of Fluvanna County, VA on September 12, 1935. She was the 3rd of 6 children. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Edward Jackson, Sr., a son, Rickie Tyler, a son-in-law. Edward Jones, a daughter-in-
law, Leah Tyler, 2 granddaughters, 3 grand-sons, 5 sisters, 5 brothers, a sister-in-law, Emma Jean Martin, and the love of her life, Robert Green.

Pearl leaves to cherish her memory 3 daughters, Patricia Jones of Charlottesville, VA, Edith Tyler of Hyattsville, MD, and Aubrey Stewart (Tyrone) of Washing ton D.C., 2 sons, Lewis (Ed) Jackson (Jean) of Washington D.C. and Steve Tyler of Largo, MD. Daughter-In-Law, Quanita Tyler of Laurel, MD., 14 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Rev. Lloyd Martin of Louisa, VA and Theodore Payne Sr. of Bremo Bluff, VA (Rev. Dorothy Payne). A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Also left behind to treasure her memory, a special set of grand doggies, Doobie, Bud, and Pepper.

Our hearts are overflowing with gratitude and appreciation for all of the love, prayers and acts of kindness shown to our family. We would like to extend a special and sincere thank you from the bottom of our hearts to Roamell (Mel) Wright. You were beyond a blessing to our mother.
