Nevins “Rooster” Bollinger, aged 70, of Palmyra, Virginia, was born on March 23, 1955, to Phifer and Ola Bollinger. He passed away leaving behind a beloved family and many cherished memories.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Deborah Bollinger; His children: Debbie Hensley, Patricia Bishop, Crystal Cockman, Sherry Harkinson, Joe Dibley, Jenny Frazier, Christy Harris, and Bobby Goodman; His siblings Ivan “Buster”, Glenda “Susie”, Amy “Sara”, Shirley, Terry, Cathy, Teresa, and Kristie; His 25 grandchildren 17 great-grandchildren; and many friends who will miss him dearly.
Rooster was a dedicated employee of the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), where he worked for 44 years. Outside of his professional life, he found joy in various hobbies. He had a passion for hunting and fishing and cherished the time spent planting his garden. He especially enjoyed teaching his grandchildren the skills of hunting and baiting a hook, passing on his love of the outdoors to the next generation. Additionally, Nevins had a knack for working on cars, which was his favorite pastime.
Rooster Bollinger will be remembered for his warm spirit and the love he shared with his family and friends. His legacy of kindness, dedication, and passion for life will continue to inspire those who knew him.
Memorial Service will be held 2:00pm Sunday, October 5th at Pleasant Grove Pole Barn, 271 Pleasant Grove Drive, Palmyra, Virginia.
