Nancy Queen

Nancy Lee Queen, 79, born April 25, 1946, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2025. Nancy was born in Washington, D.C. to William Parker and Dorothy (Turnbull) Parker Davis, Nancy was also raised by her stepfather, Ralph Davis.

She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather—Dorothy Davis, William Parker, and Ralph Davis—as well as her siblings Wayne Turnbull, Mary Boyce, and William Parker Jr.

Nancy is survived by her sister Jacqueline, her devoted husband Thomas Wayne Queen, and her children: Wendy L. McCullock (Richard), Thomas W. Queen Jr. (Michelle), and Robert J. Queen (Sonya). She leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who cherished her deeply.

Throughout her life, Nancy embraced both hard work and home life. She was self-employed and also a dedicated homemaker, pouring love and care into everything she did. Nancy enjoyed the simple, meaningful pleasures of life—gardening, canning, making jams, baking, fishing, crocheting, and above all, spending time with her family. These were the moments that brought her joy and the memories her loved ones will hold close forever.

Nancy’s warmth, creativity, and steady presence shaped the lives of those around her. She will be remembered for her strong will, her generosity, and the love she shared so freely.

Her family takes comfort in knowing she lives on in every story told, every recipe passed down, and every tradition she lovingly preserved.

Her funeral service will be held 2:00pm Sunday, December 7th with a visitation an hour prior starting at 1:00pm. Both services will take place at Sheridan Funeral Home, 4626 Cedar Lane Road, Kents Store, Virginia. Interment to immediately follow at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery, 1633 Kents Store Way, Kents Store, Virginia.
