Nancy Walton Pace, 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at her home in Palmyra, Virginia. She was born in Columbia, Virginia on April 24, 1941, the daughter of the late Arthur Walton, Jr. and Cora Glass Walton.
For many years, she worked alongside her parents in their family's country store, until their passing. She will be remembered as the loving wife of the late Frank King Pace, Jr., sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her son, Tony Pace and his wife, Angela; son, Wade Pace; daughter, Pat Holmberg and her husband, Doug; daughter, Sue Herring and her husband, Dale; daughter, Laurie Canelon and her husband, Rafael; and sisters, Anne Wood and Linda Carter. She is also survived by five grandsons, Jason, Sean, Christian, Michael, and Corey; five granddaughters, Danielle, Casey, Isabella, Victoria, and Sophia; and four great-granddaughters, Quinn, Avery, Tyler and Harper.
Though she was a woman of quiet strength and reserved nature, she carried a profound love for her family that was always present beneath the surface. A steady and calming presence, she prioritized family above all else, always wanting her loved ones close and present in her heart. Her legacy of quiet love and family devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her family will forever cherish her unwavering presence and gentle strength.
Honoring her wishes, there will be no formal memorial service. Instead, her immediate family will hold a small gathering closer to Christmas to remember and celebrate her life.
