Melissa Sue Brown

Melissa Sue Brown of Palmyra, Virginia, passed away on April 22, 2026, at the age of 55. Born on February 4, 1971, Melissa was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughters Ashlea Brown, Melanie Abuzeton, Marissa Burke, and Lilly Burke, her son Tyler Brown, and her grandchildren. She was the cherished daughter of Harry W. Brown and Shirley L. Brown (Ridner), and she is remembered fondly by her five siblings, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews. Her loving furry companion, Gunner Beau Brown, was a special part of her life.

Melissa worked as a bartender at Wahoo BBQ, where she was known for her warm and friendly presence. She had a passion for spending quality time with family and friends, and she loved relaxing at the beach and making happy memories. An excellent cook, Melissa enjoyed watching cooking shows and sharing her culinary talents. Those who knew her will always remember her infectious laugh and the joy she brought into their lives.

Melissa’s life was truly a celebration of love, laughter, and meaningful relationships. She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her family and all who had the privilege to know her.
