Marielle Campbell

We are saddened to announce the passing of Marielle Lavoie Campbell on January 11, 2026. Marielle was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was born on September 20, 1941, in Petite Rivière St-Francois, to Gerard Lavoie and Marie-Anne Simard of Canada.

On November 26, 1971, Marielle married the love of her life, the late Nelson R. Campbell, and together they had one child. Marielle is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Jean and Shelli Campbell as well as three grandchildren, Michael-Ray Bourne, Scott Bourne, and Perry Campbell, all of Palmyra, VA. She is also survived by her sister Gabrielle Lavoie and husband Paulin Lavoie of Petite Rivière Saint-Francois.

Marielle is preceded in death by her husband Nelson R. Campbell of Locust Grove, VA, her parents Gerard Lavoie and Marie-Anne Simard of Canada, as well as her brother Charles-Henri Lavoie of Canada.

Marielle accomplished a fulfilling career as a nurse in Canada and later became Co-Owner of N & M Heating and A/C alongside her late husband.

Marielle, also known as “Nani” or “G-ma” was a free-spirited individual that spent many of her younger years traveling and experiencing the wonders that the world had to offer, before settling into her quiet life of being a devoted wife and mother. In her later years, you could often find her sitting on the porch, stick in hand, enjoying nature. Marielle also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, caring for animals, and avidly tending to her garden.

Marielle will be remembered and deeply missed by those that knew and loved her.

Marielle will be honored with a celebration of life at 2:00pm, January 18th, 2026, at Sheridan Funeral Home, 4626 Cedar Lane Road, Kents Store, Virginia.
