Mabel Irene Powell

Mabel Irene Powell, 87, of Palmyra Virginia passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 26, 2024. 
She was preceded in death by her parents Burley and Macy Butler as well as her brother Andrew Butler. She leaves behind son Robert Powell and wife Rena Powell of Troy, daughter Teresa Powell Shifflett and husband Linwood Shifflett of Palmyra and her beloved grandchildren: Neil Powell and wife Meredith Powell of Charlottesville, Caleb Shifflett and wife Karmen Shifflett of Palmyra, Courtney Lukowicz and husband Cameron Lukowicz of Palmyra. 
She was overjoyed to live to enjoy being a Great Grandmother to Maddie, Larkin, and Olivia. 

A celebration of life will be held in Mabel’s honor at Cunningham United Methodist Church in Fluvanna on Friday, May 31st at 10 AM.
