Linda Riner Tanner
Linda Riner Tanner, of Troy, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2024, on her 78th birthday at Martha Jefferson Hospital. She joins the love of her life Ronnie Tanner, who passed before her on November 28th, 2005; together forever.
Born March 7, 1946, in Charlottesville, she was the daughter of the late Harry Riner, Sr and Frances Marsh Riner of Gordonsville.
Surviving Linda are her two daughters, Missy Tanner of Palmyra and Tina Tanner of Charlottesville; two grandsons, Patrick Wood of Esmont and Cater (Jordan) Wood of Ackerman, Mississippi; three great grandsons, Cannon, Lawson, and Crew Wood of Ackerman, Mississippi; two sisters, Sally Perkins and Sue (Jackie) Dean of Gordonsville; and many loved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in her death by her brother, Bill Riner and niece, Kathy Riggins.
There will be a family memorial service to celebrate her life.
The family's wishes are to have no flowers and that any memorial contributions be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in her name.
