LaVerne H. Carter

LaVerne H. Carter passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.  She was preceded in death

by her husband, Fred T. Carter.  She is survived by her children, Brenda Dunn, Tommy Carter (Jo

Anne), Cecil Carter (Kathi), and Frances Ragland.  She also leaves behind three grandchildren,

Kendra Kaiser (Jason), Ryan Dunn (Leigh), and Shelley Carter, as well as five great grandchildren.  

LaVerne was a passionate gardener, always cultivating a wide array of flowers and vegetables.  She

also enjoyed spending holidays with family.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 12 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home.  A

graveside service will be held Friday, June 13 at 11:00 a.m. at Smyrna Baptist Church.
