Edna Messick

Edna Messick, a kind and giving Christian woman, passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on Saturday May 3rd, 2025. Known for her generous spirit and unwavering faith, she touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her devoted son Wade Butler, beloved daughter-in-law Luellen Butler, and cherished granddaughter April Butler Pace. Edna is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Messick ll, and her son Ernest Edward Messick lll.

Her warmth, love, and strength remain a lasting legacy in the hearts of all who knew her.

A visitation will be held Thursday, May 8th, between the hours of 6:00 and 7:30pm at Sheridan Funeral Home, 4626 Cedar Lane Road, Kents Store, Virginia. A graveside service will be held Friday, May 9th, 11:00am at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, 4768 Shannon Hill Road, Columbia, Virginia.
