Dorothy Kincaid

It is with profound sadness and endless love, we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Dorothy Kincaid, who peacefully entered eternal rest on June 25th, 2026. Her nearly 87 years of life were marked by devotion to family and a deep commitment to those fortunate enough to know her.

Born on August 20th, 1939, she was the cherished daughter of James and Ercell Adkins.

Dorothy’s life was rooted in warmth, and unwavering support for her loved ones. She shared many treasured years with her beloved husband, Dean Nelson Kincaid, who preceded her in death. Dorothy is survived by her son, Robert Dean Kincaid, and his wife Tammy; her daughter, Diana Dove, and her husband Richard; and her daughter, Robin Kaye Kincaid.

Dorothy’s love extended through generations. She was a proud grandmother to Garrett Kincaid; Robert Dean Kincaid, Jr., Christina Lynn Coates, her husband John, Caitlynn Lizbeth Dove and Megan Broaderick. In recent years, she delighted in the company of her great-granddaughters Hayley Lynn Coates; and Leah Christine Coates, Blakely Ray Burrier, and great-grandson, Bradley Wilfred Burrier, whose laughter and joyful spirit were special blessings in her later years.

Dorothy had a fulfilling career where she served her community as an Office Service Specialist at the Fluvanna County Health Department.

Dorothy enjoyed sitting on her porch listening to birds, watching deer come out into the field. She looked forward to seeing her grandson Garrett and her son Robert, as they would stop by each day to bring her mail and visit for a while, sharing their day.

Dorothy dedicated her life to caring for others and was known for her kindness, strength, compassion, and unwavering love for her family.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate Dorothy’s life will be held at Beaver Dam Baptist Church, 1794 Richmond Road, Troy, VA, on July 1, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Dorothy Kincaid’s profound impact on her family and community endures in the hearts of all who knew her. Her memory will be treasured, and her legacy cherished for generations to come.
