Donna I. Pinnell of Maidens, Virginia, passed away unexpectedly on September 14, 2025. Donna’s passing has left a deep void in the hearts of all who loved her. She will be remembered for her vibrant life, welcoming smile and warm heart.
On July 12, 1996, Donna married the love of her life, Pepper Martin. Donna and Pepper shared a full life together that brought her immense peace, joy and companionship.
During her career as a respected and well-loved OBGYN Nurse Practitioner; her patients relied on her expertise and deep empathy. Outside of work, her core characteristics of generosity, compassion and kindness shown through in every interaction from the casual encounter with a neighbor to her deep lifetime long friendships. Her joys came from spending time with her sisters, grandchildren, traveling to see family members and creating beautiful memories. Family, by blood relation or not, did not matter to Donna, she accepted and loved her people for who they were. Family for her encompasses a huge circle of friends, relatives, sisters, children, stepchildren, grandchildren, children from friends and as well as her beloved dogs.
Donna enriched her recent years with friends in the Hollows Ladies Golf Association. Donna had soft spot for dogs, treating each one as an individual and family member. In her quiet moments, she read books and quilted. Often quilts became beloved gifts to family and friends. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Born in Brechin, Scotland on December 15, 1948, Donna was preceded in death by sister, Kathleen Lamb and is survived by her husband Robert (Pepper) Martin III, daughter Theresa Pinnell and stepson Robert (Robbie) Scott Martin (Kaci), sister Jenny (Scott) Gall and dog, Koda.
Celebration of Life will be at Ragland Memorial Baptist Church with a greet the family at 10:30 followed by a service at 11am on October 7, 2025, with a reception at Bandit’s Ridge Winery.
