Nancy Melton Brookman

Nancy “Nannie” Melton Brookman passed away on January 12, 202 1 at English Meadows – Crozet Campus where she had resided for the past 8 years.

She was born on March 2, 1934, the daughter of the late Cornelius J. and Lottie S. Melton.

She is preceded in death by her husband , Freddie A. Brookman ; sisters , Ida M. Johnson and Mary Beth May ; and brothers , George J. Melton and William Peyton Melton.

Nannie retired from Fluvanna County Public Schools as a bus driver and cafeteria worker .

She is survived by her son, Gary A. Brookman , and his wife , Dayle ; three grandchildren, Jamie, Allen and Crystal ; five great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Thanks to the staff at English Meadows and PACE for the wonderful care given to Nannie during her stay.

A g raveside service will be officiated by Reverend s Buddy Woodson and Kenny Davis at 2pm on Thursday, January 14, 2021 a t Bybee ’ s Road Baptist Church Cemetery .

There will be no visitation due to C OVID- 19.
